Bridging Classroom and Community: Tubah Council’s Holiday Program Takes Shape
Following the recent launch of the Tubah Council’s long-term holiday employment program, we are excited to share an update on the progress of our recruited students. On July 9, 2026, the first cohort of participants transitioned from recruitment to active engagement, convening at the University of Bamenda for an intensive one-week workshop.
Turning Vision into Action
This workshop represents the practical application of our strategic partnership with the University of Bamenda. As outlined in our initial program launch, the initiative aims to provide students with more than just temporary employment; it is designed to foster professional growth, civic responsibility, and community values.
The atmosphere in the lecture halls on July 9th was one of focus and enthusiasm. Students gathered in structured groups to begin their specialized training, which centers on two key pillars:
-
Civic Rights and Responsibilities: Equipping our youth with a deeper understanding of their roles and protections within the nation.
-
Citizenship and Values: Instilling a strong sense of duty and active community engagement.
Creating Lasting “Endimpact”
By combining academic expertise with real-world administrative experience, the Tubah Council is fulfilling the commitment of Mayor Tanjong Martin to keep the youth productively engaged during the holiday season.
This workshop is a crucial step in delivering our “endimpact” goal—ensuring that the time spent in this program translates into:
-
Skill Acquisition: Hands-on experience in public administration and community service.
-
Constructive Engagement: Transforming the long holiday break into a period of meaningful professional and personal development.
As these young leaders continue their training this week, they are not only preparing for their immediate tasks within the council but are also building a vibrant network invested in the sustainable development of Tubah. We look forward to seeing the positive transformation these students will bring to our community.
Stay tuned to the Tubah Council website for more updates as our holiday workers continue their journey toward becoming the community leaders of tomorrow.
